I'm very sorry to have to post this. I think it is important people know because lots of those returning from Soul Survivor will be raving about the song and his testimony.

News from Mike P about Mike Guglielmucci the guy who wrote the song 'Healer'

Dear Friends

It is with great sadness that I need to let you know about an update we have received from Hillsong about Mike Guglielmucci (the guy who wrote the song ‘Healer’).

It has come to light that he has never had cancer and he has been deceiving many people with his story, including his wife and parents.

I am personally devastated by this news and struggling to understand how this could have happened and how we were all so duped. I want to apologise to those of you who were moved by his story on the first night of one of the Soul Survivor events and now have to face the disillusionment of being told it was all a sham. Mike Guglielmucci may not have cancer, but he clearly is in need of a lot of help. Please pray for him and particularly for his wife and family who will be in deep distress at this discovery.

At the moment we feel we cannot with integrity sing the song ‘Healer’ and therefore it will not go on our 08 live album. When I was told my first reaction was to say ‘you can’t trust anyone these days’. But some of my friends responded ‘that is exactly what the enemy wants to happen’. God is good, He is our Healer, He is our provision and He comes to us as grace. We need to keep looking to Him, because He will never let us down.
Please do not let this unfortunate and bizarre incident rob you of all that God did among us at the summer events.
